Mark Yeterian is a life long competitor who has made the transition from athlete into coach. Born in NYC, but raised in NJ, he was a three-sport athlete in high school in soccer, ice hockey and lacrosse. After high school he made his way out to Orange County, California where he played lacrosse at Chapman University where he was an integral part of the team as a face off mid-fielder and helped the team make it to the MCLA National Championship twice.
After college, he coached lacrosse at Mater Dei high school and joined the work force but still had not found something he was passionate in besides just being a gym rat and playing lacrosse wherever and whenever he could. He decided to follow his passion for muscle, strength, and training and go back to school and get his graduate degree from Cal State Fullerton. During this time he also started training, coaching, and learning at CrossFit Costa Mesa. After he graduated from CSUF he left California for Colgate University in upstate New York where he was a strength and conditioning coach for the swim and dive team. After his time at Colgate he went to the University of Minnesota to continue to learn as an intern and be involved with division 1 athletics at a Big 10 university. But the sunshine and his love of the Newport Beach community drew him back to southern California where he secured his position at Newport Strength.
